This is my second anthem for the city of Christchurch and if you are wondering where it came from you need look no further.
Perhaps it can be viewed as a counter to the sugar coated 'New Brighton's for lovers'
Let the tale be told but first may I say Pavlov's Puss does not condone illegal street racing nor do we participate in illegal street racing.
This song is just a situation report from a broken city that just happens to be perfect for illegal street racing and has therefore fostered a significant culture around this activity.
So I had this shop in Addington and one day this huge black gangster dude came in to rob me but funnily enough we just hit it off and smoked some weed instead. It turned out he was one of Christchurch's OG street racers from the 90's. This song is an assemblage of overheard conversations at Nathan McNish's house. Credit must also be given to the late Simon O'Donnell as I have literally stolen the words out of your dead mouth and turned them into lyrics.
